my brute!

Here's a little dorky thing I found, You make a character and then duke it out with others online. Funny thing is, you don't actually do anything and yet I find it oddly addictive ...

The website is down half the time so don't be disappointed if it doesn't work for you. I find refreshing a couple of times in a row usually does the trick.

Judging Extremism Cont'd

I've been waiting for the "right" moment to finish this but I feel as though I'm waiting for something that doesn't exist. My mind is running, my thoughts are convoluted and I can't seem to make things slow down. So here it is -- abridged, uninteresting but the best I've got.

A big hefty man stands in the distance. Moving quickly, with vigour. A few steps closer and it all becomes clear. The boulder he holds high comes crashing down under a sound of breaking twigs. He does this again, with even greater strength and even more determination. Only this time you see there are no twigs.

The deer before him is dead.
The strength within you is gone.
And all that is left is ...

I'm not really sure how this story ends. Do you fight? Do you run? Do you judge him? Did I judge him?

I guess what I'm trying to say is ... who really knows? Anything.

Judging Extremism

I often find it difficult to differentiate between genius and idiocracy. The averages are easy but outliers are truly a sight to behold. If you've ever seen "The Usual Suspects" or Dennis Rodman, then you know exactly what I mean.

This phenomena extends far beyond intelligence and truly applies to all aspects of life. In most instances, you only get but a glimpse and instinctively, a decision is made.

Imagine yourself walking in the wilderness ... a beautiful river running through a sage old forest ... air so fresh it brings back thoughts of better days ... and reminds us we're alive ... for those who sometimes forget.

Time. It changes so quickly, so effortlessly. And yet the changes are forever, irreversible.

It's impossible to tell what time will bring, but in this instance, in the sanctity of this forest, change comes in the form of a sound. A shreak so desperate it touches you to your very core. A shreak so powerful it almost brings you to your knees.

--To be continued.

"I think therefore I am."

I am therefore you are.

'You are' and 'I am' therefore we share.

I guess what I'm trying to is ... we're all in this together. Our lives, our decisions, as a society and as individuals ... we are all responsible.
